World Environment Day @Tapovan School

Education has no Lockdown!

Education has not stopped at Tapovan School, Bangalore, even if the school itself is not physically open yet. It has been doing everything possible to ensure that the students have a normal academic year – from their online classes to online celebrations.

On 5th June, 2021, Tapovan celebrated the World Environment Day with a virtual bang. Having organised a week-long celebration for its students to help them know more about the environment and its conservation, the school also ensured that they could have an enriching and exciting experience amidst the lockdown.

Starting on the 26th May, 2021, the school conducted various activities for its students everyday till 2nd June. The activities included – Seed and sapling planting, drawing/poster contests, making of Immunity Booster videos, DIY Craft work from waste, and other full-filled environment-based quizzes, and word-games. The students participated with great enthusiasm, with support from their parents and teachers.

The celebration reached its high-note on 5th June, 2021, with a virtual meeting amongst the school staff, students, parents, and various guests. The Chief guest of this function was Rtn Reshu Baid, the Youth Service Director of Rotary Bangalore Junction, who appreciated the work done by the school and its students to organise such an informative program.

During the meet, the participants learnt more about the different aspects of nature – both flora and fauna. Information about the animals in Hindu mythology, the process of symbiosis, the importance of water, the Navagraha Plants, and other such varied topics were explained to a captivated audience of a hundred people. The enthusiasm showed by the children was high and encouraging.
